In a theoretical moment he calls “the singularity,” he predicts that man and machine will merge together. A technological savior.
I reject this notion.
There is no moment when our ex machina gods will save us.
In fact, viewing life this way will engender your own demise.
You are the one. Life is a single player game.
Open your eyes in the morning, gleaming light enlivens dust particles in the air. Your lungs persist. Descartes’ truth is utterly apparent: You are.
This is the only “singularity” worth living for.
Do not mistake this for cynicism or anti-tech animus.
Tech is neither savior nor Armageddon.

The Singularity Is You is a band. It’s also kind of a blog. And maybe one day a podcast.
This is the vision I am chipping away it, bit by bit, each day.
I hand-type every single word here. I never use AI to compose writing.
If I have some intellectual deficit — a lack of knowledge or understanding, confusion on a topic, insufficiently elegant style, or an ant farm of typos — I’d rather that be reflected in the article as an honest representation of my mind and its contents. In my view, too many nonfiction writers now use AI to fill the gaps — ones which would be embarrassingly large were we to interrogate the writer in person. If your argument pops like a water balloon after only a few minutes of Socratic dialogue, perhaps you don’t really understand the topic. 🤷
Writing isn’t just words. It’s thinking on the page.
